Try upgrading libtool. If that doesn't work, try upgrading automake or
autoconf. The GNUpdate libraries and programs are known to build with
automake v1.4-p5, autoconf v2.13, and libtool v1.4. If you still have

Try using gettext v0.10.40. The GNUpdate libraries and programs are
known to build with gettext v0.10.40 and gettext v0.11.4+. It may
not build with v0.11.0 through v0.11.3. Those versions are currently
untested.
If you use RedHat v7.3, please upgrade to v0.11.4. If our misc
repository is in your apt-rpm sources.list (see
Downloads for more information), you will automatically
update to this version. Otherwise, please download it
here.
Please note that if you are using autoconf v2.50 or higher, you must
upgrade gettext to either 0.10.39 or 0.10.40. If you use a lower version,
you will receive an error similar to one of the above.
